Wow! What. A. Book. We have always been big readers in our home, and this book has been a wonderful addition. In Family Driven Faith, Dr. Baucham lays out a well rounded, all encompassing view of what a family driven by faith generally should look like.

The book is divided into chapters and sub chapters or sections within a chapter. As busy parents, that was super helpful in being able to read a section of a chapter at a time when we had a spare minute or two. There are also action/reflection questions at the end of each chapter which were very thoughtful and encouraged us to discuss these topics together.

Many of the things Pastor Baucham goes into in this book were things we had come to believe from reading the Scriptures ourselves. But we hadn’t fleshed them out (and probably couldn’t have!) as well as he does.

From marriage to children to church to education to family worship, pretty much EVERY section of a Christian families life was thoroughly discussed. It was so refreshing to see ideas we had (that were in a way more basic form) fleshed out so plainly and thoroughly for us. It has made it so much easier to explain our views to others.

Pastor Voddie also gives some great direction in his book for mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, pastors, etc. And, without giving too much away, leaves you with food for thought on some things that the church and families need to reevaluate and think on. We love the saying “Semper Reformanda” in our family. It basically means “always reforming.” The church, families, and individuals would always be reflecting and examining ourselves to ensure we are in line with Scripture and if what we are doing is the best way to serve our Lord, our families, and our community.

We HIGHLY recommend this book. Here is the link if you would like to pick up a hard copy or the kindle edition. And here is a link to the audiobook in case you would like to listen. The audiobook is very well done! It took me a while to warm up to audiobooks but as a busy mom I’m really starting to like them. If you would like to give audible a try, here is a link to a free trial of audible plus where you can get up to 2 audiobooks free. Stop over on our social media accounts and let us know if you’ve read it and/or what you think of Family Driven Faith!
