My Creation Bible is one of our more recent additions. It is made in more of a board book fashion, but also has a soft wrapped style cover with a handle for little ones to be able to take it with them and carry it easily which is nice. It is a rhyming format that’s easy to read in one sitting.

For those who are curious about depiction (2 commandment) there is a manger scene depiction where you kind of see a baby laying in the manger as well as a silhouette image of Christ in heaven, but no features are discernible.

Ken Ham does a great job of laying out the reason we need a Savior, explaining how sin came into the world, explaining creation, touching on a few of God’s attributes, and exposing the gospel. I really liked how he managed to work in counter points to the evolutionary worldview in several places as well as counter points to several other cultural issues we encounter today, and he did it by simply pointing to what the Bible says. Parents will probably pick up on these things as you read through it, but I really loved the simplicity of how Scripture was affirmed and how these lessons were throughout the reading.

My Creation Bible does NOT cover the entire Bible. It discusses the historical accounts of creation, the flood, and the Tower of Babel as it explains the fall and why we need a Savior. It then does a pretty good job of explaining that Jesus is our Savior and presenting the gospel message and the path to salvation.

It is a children’s rhyming style book, so I would say that it give ample opportunities to talk further about sin, salvation, and Jesus more than it provides a fully fleshed out gospel presentation. But, again, it’s a children’s rhyming style book. It isn’t meant to be a fully fleshed out, in depth gospel presentation. It’s meant to introduce these topics to children, and it does a good job of that.

The My Creation Bible is geared toward a younger child. The only word of caution I would give parents about this book is sin and Flood depictions may be a bit scary for really young and/or sensitive children. I definitely recommend this book, but if you have a sensitive child, I would read and look through it first to make sure your child is ready for the depictions it shows. All in all it’s a pretty good little book. Time will tell if it becomes a favorite in our house.
